Audio Restoration & Repair / If you don't like what you hear, we can fix it.

What Exactly Is Audio Restoration?

If you’ve never heard of the art of audio restoration, I’ll make it simple for you. Audio restoration restores audio. Easy enough, right?

There are two main reasons for restoring audio. First, we restore audio because it was recorded poorly in the first place. Whether you recorded with bad equipment or someone sneezed on the last note of your senior opera recital, you will inevitably run into situations where you were not able to record an event perfectly. We can help restore those kinds of recordings.

Second, we restore audio because we want to clean up old recordings and put them into a digital format. The moment a sound is recorded, it begins to degrade. Whether it is recorded on a vinyl record, a tape, or a CD, the recording only has so long before it begins to completely deteriorate. Storing them in a digital format helps keep your recordings sound pristine for years to come. We can help in these areas as well.

What Kind of Tools Do We Use?

We have a number of professional tools at our fingertips to help clean, restore, and repair your recordings. In fact, here is a list of just a few of the tools we use:

De-noise (removes distracting background noise)
De-click (removes snaps, crackles, and pops…no relation to Rice Krispies)
De-clip (removes clipping that has happened by overloading your recording device)
Remove Hum (removes low hum and all of its harmonics)
Repair (this is my favorite…removes barking dogs and car horns as if they were never there)

I’m sure you want to hear what we can do, so head on over to the portfolio page to hear how these tools can be used together to clean up all kinds of audio problems.

Pricing

I primarily charge by the hour for my work.
In that case, I charge $50 for every hour of work I spend on your audio.

On a case-by-case basis, I also charge a fixed rate that will be determined based on the quality of the audio I will be working with. Please contact us if you would like a personal quote.

We also give churches and non-profits a hefty discount. If you contact us directly for those discounts, we would be glad to work with your budget!
